Answers to some frequently asked questions:

What is FanTab?

Hmmmm....kind of thought we answered that one up top?

How about in layman’s terms?

OK — so, after LeBron James jumped to South Beach, the Cavaliers’ index probably dropped faster than Enron’s stock. But we’ll never know, because–at the time–there was no fan "index" that tracked team sentiment. Now there is. FanTab aims to track and map team sentiment over time.

Why? I mean, who cares?

Picture this: Your hometown team just won a division tiebreaker in overtime, but a key player got knocked out for the playoffs. You feel lousy, but at least they advance. How do your fellow fans feel? More confident than last week? Less? How does that compare to the way other cities’ fans feel about your divisional rivals? FanTab seeks to quantify that team sentiment and help thoughtful fans have an analytical conversation about it.

What is FanTab’s contribution to society?

Right now, not a heck of a lot. Oh sure, we could give some Google-esque spiel about doing no evil, blah, blah, blah. And maybe someday our data will help unlock the keys to true human nature. But for now we have little redeeming qualities other than being a fun place for sports nerds to get their analysis on.

How does it work?

A surprisingly sturdy contraption made of magic lemurs, 6 perpetual motion machines and a nearly fossilized tube of Ben Gay. Plus, it’s patented, so you know it’s good.

Come on, really. How does it work?

It’s easy. You register at FanTab and select your favorite teams. Whenever you want, you contribute your latest sentiment about the team using our simple sliding scale. Your "ranking" is tracked and tabulated with others, and an index is created and charted. You can then add analysis, heckle other teams, and integrate it all with your favorite social media platforms.

Is FanTab integrated with any social media platforms?

Yup - Twitter and Facebook. You can log-in with either of these accounts, automatically tweet your FanTab rating, and even update your teams’ indexes through those platforms.
